 Mission statement expanded.

Establish a corporate entity that will create an atmosphere of belonging where everybody will be welcome and where young people can grow into well rounded adults.

To achieve a well-rounded individual a culture of respect towards one another, teachers / coaches and parents needs to be cultivated. A code of conduct will be adapted that would guide youth members, teachers and parent on how to conduct themselves in interacting with one another and the public outside of the company.

Teachers and Directors will create a “homely” atmosphere through being approachable and supportive to all youth members and building trust and respect by being an example through upholding the company code of conduct themselves.

Establish a development program for disadvantaged children.

In order to truly develop the raw talent that South Africa  has to offer a program needs to be established that will address the potential amongst the disadvantaged communities or dancers  whom are not financially capable of pursuing  formal training.

The program needs to address development of dancers at all levels and every application will be dealt with individually.

Produce an annual theatre production.

The company will produce an annual production that will offer company members the opportunity to gain experience in performing on stage. Included in this experience will be the opportunity to learn the technical aspects of theatre productions including lighting, sound, décor, makeup and theatre management.

The annual IYBC production should be additional to any dancers being selected to dance with visiting/touring local or international dance companies.

Conduct annual training / development workshop and monthly training and development classes.

Training classes will be conducted on a monthly basis and the  Russian Ballet Academy has been appointed as training providers to the IYBC.

Development workshops will be scheduled on an ad hoc basis and coaches will be appointed per workshop. Workshops will include master classes conducted by visiting/touring dance companies.

Establish a strong relationship with dance companies around the world with the purpose of joint venture productions and development workshops.

It is the aim of the IYBC to offer members the opportunity to gain experience from local and international dance companies through interacting with members and taking part in workshops, master classes and productions. To achieve this it is the board of director’s responsibility to make contact with and form a relationship with dance companies that will result in joint venture productions and development programs.

Establish a foreign exchange student education program with the aim of developing young dancers to the level of professional dancers or teachers, as per their ability and area of interest, to gain experience and eventually return and promote the Vaganova dance method in South Africa.

To expand the footprint of the Vaganova method in South Africa the IYBC will pursue the possibility of establishing a program where students have the opportunity to study at a Russian Dance Academy, University or College to qualify as professional dancers or Vaganova teachers, gain experience by dancing with international dance companies and return to South Africa to transfer knowledge and promote the Vaganova method of dance.

The opportunity to bring qualified teachers and dancers (trained in the Vaganova method) from abroad for an exchange period will be investigated.

Manage the organisation through good governance, sound financial principles and a policy of transparency.

All required processes and procedures, as required by South African law, will be put in place to ensure that the organisation is managed on a sound footing.

Financial statements will be open for review to members.
